Teenage Relationship Dangers Jealousy

While many may not consider jealousy as one of the teenage relationship dangers, it is. It does not matter if an individual is the one that is experiencing jealousy, or if they are the one with a person that experiences jealousy, the effects can be devastating either way. Jealousy is a unique mixture of feelings and various types of thoughts that involve anxiety as a result of fear and even a sense of insecurity. It occurs when someone who is involved in a relationship feels as if that relationship is threatened in one way or another. Most often, it is a result of someone feeling as if they will lose the person that they are with for one reason or another. In this article, you will be introduced to this teenage relationship danger.

When an individual experiences jealousy, especially a teenager in a relationship, many different emotions are experienced. Many may find that they experience sadness and feelings of despair. Many may experience anger and even feelings of resentment. Jealousy is a unique experience for each person that has it. While most adults can cope with jealousy with ease, teenagers often have a difficult time coping with it. In many instances, these feelings cause a teenager to lash out, or even to become hostile in way or another. This is why jealousy is considered to be one of the teenage relationship dangers. The person experiencing this may lash out or become aggressive in one way or another towards the individual that they are dating. In some instances, they may turn their aggression inward.

For the teenager that turns their aggression inward as a result of jealousy, the end result can be devastating. Many teens may become depressed and lose their self confidence. As a result, their grades may begin to drop. They may isolate themselves from their peers and refrain from social activities. Many teens may start to experiment with drugs and other substances that can be relatively dangerous to their health, such as alcohol. Many may even start to abuse over-the-counter prescriptions and even medications that have been obtained through the means of a prescription.

If you know a teen that is experiencing jealousy, it is important to approach them and offer your assistance. In most cases, the cause for the emotion is unfounded. It may be simply a matter of low self-esteem, or some other issue occurring in the life of the teenager. If it occurs while the teen is in a relationship, you may consider acting as a mediator between the teen with jealousy and the teen that the jealousy is being projected towards. You can encourage both of the teenagers to openly discuss their feelings.

There are several types of teenage relationship dangers. Jealousy may not initially appear to be a “danger”, however, over time it can progress into a danger. Not just for the individual that it is projected towards, but also for the individual that is experiencing it. It is important to work with the teenager, or both in the relationship, in order to overcome this teenage relationship danger.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Teenage Relationship Dangers Sexual Assault

There are many teenage relationship dangers. One of the most common dangers is that of sexual assault. Many use the terms “sexual assault” and “rape” in an interchangeable manner. However, these are two distinct sex crimes. Rape is a word that is used to describe sexual intercourse that is forced. Sexual assault is a term that is used to describe any type of sexual activity that is considered to be non-consensual. This means that there is not an agreement between the person committing sexual assault and the person that is considered to be the victim of the crime. Many teenagers, both male and female, are subjected to this type of assault annually. In this guide introducing teenage relationship dangers, you will learn detailed information about this issue.

When it comes to teenagers, there are four different types of sexual assault that they may be subjected to. The first type typically does not occur while dating unless the teen is on a “blind” date. This is “Stranger” assault. The next three types of assault that are considered to be sexual based are referred to as “Date”, “Acquaintance”, and “Relationship”. If you are a parent, teacher, or any other adult that cares for, or works with teenagers, it is essential that you learn all that you are able to regarding these types of teenage relationship dangers. Teens can be hurt emotionally, psychologically, and physically from this type of situation. Once you learn all that you are able to, it is important to pass this information on to the teenager(s) in your life.

Sexual Assault by a Stranger

As mentioned previously, assault by a stranger is typically not an issue when it comes to teenage relationship dangers. However, if the teen dates “blindly”, this could be a cause for concern, so I feel it is best to mention it in this guide regarding sexual assault. When dealing in percentages, the average rate is 22% among documented reports of sexual assault performed by someone other than a victim knows when it comes to cases involving those that are in their teenage years. When educating your teen or teens that you work with on a regular basis, it is important to ensure that you stress the importance of being aware of their surroundings at all times while out. In addition to this, they should be urged to avoid blind dates, and meeting people that they do not know but have only interacted with online.

Sexual Assault by a Date

When a teenager is assaulted in a sexual form by a date, it is someone that they know and have agreed to become involved with in one way or another – whether as a friend, or romantically. Teenagers are often taught by their peers that when one party or another says “no” to any type of sexual activity, that it actually indicates a subconscious “yes”. While on dates, one party or another may initialize some type of sexual act. This does not mean intercourse only. This may consist of oral sex, and other types of activities that are sexual based. If a party objects the advances, the individual attempting to engage in the activity may then begin to assault them in one way or another. These ways include pressuring, issuing threats, or even forcibly forcing the victim to engage in the desired acts.

Sexual Assault by an Acquaintance

In many cases of teenage dating, sexual assault may be engaged in by an acquaintance. This is typically not the person that they are involved in a relationship with, but it may be a friend or relative of the person that they are dating. When this occurs, the person committing the act will likely try to coerce the victim through the means of manipulation or physical strength. Threats may also occur. It is important to teach your teenager that any person is capable of anything and that if they feel uncomfortable, they should trust the instincts that are occurring. This may help them to avoid situations in which they are sexually assaulted in one way or another.

Sexual Assault in a Relationship

Sexual assault in a relationship is the most common type of abuse experienced among teenagers. When they are subjected to this, it is likely that they are also experiencing other types of abuse by the person that they consider themselves committed to. It is likely that they may be subjected to physical conflicts, sexual abuse, and even be abused emotionally. Many teenagers in these types of situations are often embarrassed, ashamed, or feel as if they cannot escape the situation that they are in.

There are many teenage relationship dangers, but sexual assault is one of the most common. Here, you have been introduced to four basic types, how they occur, and what the victim of these types may be experiencing. As an adult, you should know all that you can about teenage relationship dangers so that you may educate them.

The Dangers of Teenage Depression and Common Causes

Category : Parenting Tips

The Dangers of Teenage Depression and Common Causes

Depression affects us all and that can be quite a scary fact because some of us have no idea that we are affected by depression in the first place. The thing is, it is much more common within adolescence and teenagers because they are at the stage when the body goes through a whole host of changes emotionally and physically, and they are not mentally developed nor grounded to fully understand the changes within them. But since change is normal, depression is then normal for most teenagers but there is some cases where the changes is so extreme; that they are unable to cope with these drastic changes and thus become depressed.

When this happens, you as a parent or you as a teenager would need to be aware of the causes of these teenager depression. They will usually be centred around the traumatic events like deaths, or movements from home towns or even abuse. Because each teenager is different, they will have different ways of coping with these problems and some of these teenagers will not be able to handle these explosive events. Because of the amount of emotions that they will be experiencing, they will be floundering in these deep waters and ultimately drown in their own depression. In recent studies, one of the most common problems that cause teenage depression is the fact that parents get divorced around the age when teenagers reach puberty. There also has been studies to the fact that some teenagers are much more prone to being depressed.

So, when you have a small suggestion that your child is having adolescent despair, see to it that he is not absent single-handedly for too extensive a time. The cause for this is that they have a high jeopardy of executing suicide-in anticipation of aid. Suicide is a widespread ideation in all psychologically miserable persons. It is consequently significant that parents be acquainted with and appreciate the dissimilar grounds of adolescent depression. The reasons of adolescent depression are so diverse that it can discriminate against anybody at anytime. Not only death, there are many other problems that can develop with acute depression and this can be acute anger, acting out, malnutrition – which would lead them to lash out and find ways to dull the pain of depression, which could be drugs and alcoholism. So you need to be careful and tread carefully when you do know that your child is suffering from depression.

Make an appointment with a doctor and he or she will prescribe some sort of anti depressants and drugs that will help. If the depression is very acute and has reached the levels of clinical depression, then therapy with a psychologists would then be important to turn things around and give them back the happiness that all teenagers should have. Teenage Abortion Dangers – Warning For Teens And Parents

Category : Parenting Tips

Teenage Abortion Dangers – Warning For Teens And Parents

The rate of abortion among teenaged girls has been going down recently. It was quite high in the seventies, but became stable in the eighties. The rate of abortions among teenaged girls has come down especially in the nineties. In 1990, about 26.5 teenagers among 1000 went in for an abortion. In 2000, only 14.5 among 1000 teenagers terminated an unwanted pregnancy by abortion.

The rate of abortion among adolescents also depends on their race. The abortion rate among black teens is more than the abortion rate among Hispanic or White teens. While the number of abortions for every 1000 White girls between the ages of 15 and 19 is 14.8, the rate for Hispanic teenage girls is 30.3 percent. The rate among Blacks is the highest with around 57.4 teens going in for an abortion per 1000 black teenaged girls aged from 15 to 19.

Age is also an important factor influencing the rate of abortion. Girls in their late teens are more likely to go in for an abortion than girls in their early teens. Out of 1000 girls aged from 15 to 17, about 14.5 get an abortion. But only 0.9 out of 1000 girls below the age of fourteen go in for an abortion. The rate of abortions among girls aged eighteen and nineteen is the highest at 37.7 every 1000 teenaged girls.

The factors driving teenagers to an abortion clinic are as diverse as those driving adult women to get an abortion. A teenaged girl usually goes in for an abortion to terminate an abrupt and unplanned pregnancy. A number of social factors also drive teenaged girls to the abortion clinic. These factors could be religious beliefs, conditions at home, and also the social stigma associated with being an unwed mother.

Many teenaged girls are of the opinion that they are not ready to handle the burden of parenthood. Some feel that an unwanted pregnancy could have an adverse effect on their social life. Many teens abort an unwanted fetus because they want to focus on their education and proceed to college. A lot of teenagers are worried about the financial troubles they might have to face if they have a baby.

Abortion is less hazardous to the life of a teenager than unexpected motherhood. The incidence of premature birth and low weight of the baby among teenage girls is high. Most teenaged girls have unhealthy eating habits, and this could create a lot of damage to the baby. The tendency of teenagers to keep their weight down during pregnancy by dieting, purging, and sometimes even skipping meals can create health problems not only to the teenaged mother, but also to her unborn baby.

In addition, teenage pregnancy and childbirth is associated with several complications and problems. In developed countries, most complications are rectified by a cesarean surgery. However, in many developing countries, teenage mothers can suffer from obstetric fistula or eclampsia. Besides, teen pregnancy is associated with a higher rate of maternal and infant mortality.
