A Tribute to Dads – Parenting Tips

Dads spend their lives thinking about their families. They slog hard at work so that they can bring home the bacon. They allow their own preferences to play second fiddle to others at home. And they routinely forgo their own happiness to bring a smile on the lips of their children.

In 1966, President Lyndon Johnson declared Father’s Day a holiday, to be celebrated on the third Sunday of June. Father’s day presents a wonderful opportunity to celebrate fatherhood. It’s a day to reflect back on the special, if often unacknowledged, role dads play in our lives. It’s a time to remember the innumerable sacrifices fathers make for us, and repay them by saying those simple words dads love to hear, “Thanks dad, I love you.”

Here are some great ideas to help you celebrate Father’s Day:

1. Dad doesn’t have to wait for his next birthday to feel special. If there is a shirt, a watch or season tickets to a game that dad has wanted to buy for a long time but just never had the time for, let him know you took the time to care.

2. Dads may not be sentimental around the house but they love to display their Father’s Day cards at work with pride. Give your dad a card. If you have the time, you can even make your own card, letting dad know how much you love him.

3. Spend some quality time with your dad. Make the day a special family occasion by watching a movie together or playing some of his favorite music.

4. Treat your dad to dinner at a fine restaurant. Better still; surprise him by cooking up his favorite dish at home. (If you don’t cook, order out from his favorite restaurant and have a quiet intimate evening with dad.)

5. Get your dad a Father’s Day gift that is personal and which expresses the measure of your love for him. Buy gifts for dad. Give something you know your dad will love and use often. This way, your dad will remember you every time he uses the gift.

Above all, remember, it’s not the gift, as much as the thought behind it that counts—especially, with dads.

New Dads Parenting Tips! Useful Tips to Help Man to Become a Better Dad!

So you are going to be a father? It is your first baby in your life? Let me share some of my experiences to all new dads here.

I understand how you feel – in fact my first lovely baby boy born in May 29, 2009. Being a new dad is so excited, but also there are many things to worry about such as how to become a great dad or am I doing the things right and etc. Therefore, I know what you are going through right now!

But, I want to let you know something… and it is this:

As you are searching ways to become a great dad, you are actually on the right track. I believe you have accompanied your wife or partner to her doctor appointments not only letting her know that you want to become a great dad, but also want to share the happiness together. Am I correct?

So here is some of my tips for you to get notice in order to become a great dad!!

What parenting tips do a new dad needs to know? It is this…

Know the Baby

Your new baby will not give you any signals that you are doing things right or wrong in their first six weeks. The reason is because babies are trying to adapting to this new world and all they do is cry and sleep. However, you can try to hold them and if they fall asleep on your chest, that means they like and trust you!! This is a very very warmth feelings because you will somehow feel the miracle of the love!

On the other hand, you must know that babies love to cry a lot. You need to get use to this because crying is a way of their communications. They will cry because they are hungry or they want you to hold them or change them and etc. Therefore, when your baby cries, do not just give to someone else. You should try to figure out yourself or maybe hold the baby in different ways until the point he or she feels comfortable with.

Remember, they cry because they want to communicate with you!

Please note: the neck of the new born baby is very soft, so you need to support their neck when you hold them. Also, try to protect the head of the new born baby, because their brain is actually developing during the first year. So be careful on this!! When you get use to holding the baby, you could try to give them a bath.

Most babies love warm water and you could have lot of enjoyments when doing that. However, you need to be careful because babies love to kick around during bathing and it is very slippery. So just pay very close attention to it.

Warning: Do not neglect the above tips!! Be sure to take this advice seriously if you want to become a great new dad and to enjoy the moment with your new born child.
