Advice for parents accepting gay daughter?
My best friend really came out to her parents at 44, three months ago and her mother who has always been such a HUGE support and truly open minded woman so we thought is behaving very poorly, selfish, victim, all about me type of thing. Her sister who was also very close has been unsupportive, but getting better. Her dad is fine, except for going through the mom's issues. My friend is devastated as it was the 1st Thanksgiving they did not welcome her. I have bought them books for education and found a therapist, but her mother will not budge. It is so sad. Any thoughts? XOThanks so much for replies so far...I should say that her mom is really a lovely person by all history...and they are VERY close in family events and all things, communication daily before...No one else was shocked as my friend is definitely not feminine and has been alone her whole life. Now she is happy and in a relationship and her mom mkaes it seem that she is evil. It is so awful...but I do know the patterns of acceptance are not simple and I guess we have to have hope?
Advice for parent of murdered son?
My neighbor s son was murdered on October 14th of this year. Although everybody knows who the killer is, no one who witnessed the murder is willing to come forth and openly testify. We re looking to raise money to supplement the reward that the county is offering and would really appreciate advice on how to get started.
